Mustapha Ogunsakin, a senior journalist, detailed how Vice President Yemi Osinbajo turned down former President Olusegun Obasanjo's invitation to become Attorney-General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2005.

According to Ogunsakin, Osinbajo turned down Obasanjo's offer and remained loyal to Bola Tinubu, the then-governor of Lagos State.

Between 1999 to 2007, Osinbajo worked as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State, when Tinubu was the governor.

Ogunsakin, on the other hand, said Obasanjo made the offer because of Osinbajo's outstanding characteristics as then-Commissioner.

This was revealed by the seasoned journalist during a press conference in Abuja yesterday.

He was responding to the comments that followed Osinbajo's presidential statement.

Following his announcement, Osinbajo was accused of abandoning Tinubu, who is running for President as well.
